Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Authorities reported they were notified by a individual who discovered a car in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then located numerous other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police say initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; investigators are currently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.

Local authorities announced they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the community for details.

A high-ranking representative commented the incident made him stunned and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in five years prior.
